Mr. Doug Schatz is a founder and Chairman of Ampt. Before Ampt he founded and funded Advanced Energy Industries (AEIS), and was CEO, Chairman and President from 1981 through 2005. He retired from Advanced Energy as Chairman in 2014.
While helping to build Advanced Energy he received the IR-100 R&D award, and lead the company to multiple Inc. 500 awards, including in the top 50. The company remains the world leader in its specialty of precision power sources.
After leaving Advanced Energy Mr. Schatz has become more active in philanthropy through his family foundation and through other directed activities. He has also continued to invest in startups in a range of industries and is on the board of several of these companies.
Joseph Zimlich
Board Member
Joseph C. Zimlich is the Chief Executive of Bohemian Companies, a private family financial office and investment management company with public equity, fixed income securities and private equity holdings.
Joe has held board of director level positions in the following industries: technology, semi-conductors, water filtration, trust, private & commercial banking, food service, and venture-capital funds. He currently serves as a Board member for Bohemian Foundation, First Western Trust Bank, Ampt, LLC, Indotek Group and Third Way.
Joe graduated from the University of Iowa with a BBA in Accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Professional in Human Resources (PHR).
David Diehl
Board Member
David is a partner at OneSeven Advisors, a tax and family office advisory firm based in Fort Collins, Colorado. An appreciation for family and community takes a high priority for OneSeven and for David, which extends through the firm and into their nonprofit board involvement.
After earning his undergraduate degree in finance from CSU, David worked with Norwest Banks before returning to CSU for a graduate degree focused on tax, which led to getting his CPA and working for Deloitte in Denver.
Levent Gun
CEO Emeritus/Board Member
Mr. Levent Gun has four decades of technology experience, having worked in technical and senior executive-level positions while establishing a track record of successful leadership at both start-ups and mature companies. Levent joined Ampt as its first CEO shortly after its founding and lead all aspects of Ampt’s product and go to market strategies as well as built Ampt’s team and customer driven culture. Under Levent’s 15+ years of leadership, Ampt became a recognized leader in DC power management, created a new category of optimizers for the utility segment of the Solar PV market, and established itself as the world’s #1 optimizer company for this largest market segment with multi-gigawatts of deployments across every continent. Starting in 2025, Levent continues to work with the team on mid- to long-term strategic initiatives as CEO Emeritus, an active investor, and as a member of the Board of Directors.
Prior to joining Ampt, Levent was president and CEO of Kleer, a wireless audio semiconductor company that was acquired by SMSC. Prior to Kleer, Levent was president and CEO of Iospan Wireless, a pioneer in MIMO technology, a predecessor to the G5 mobile cellular standard. Iospan was acquired by Intel Corporation in 2003. Previously, Levent co-founded and led US Robotics’ Cable Data Business and transformed this fledgling start-up into a $100 million business after 3COM’s acquisition of US Robotics. Earlier in his career, Levent held various engineering management and leadership positions at Motorola and IBM, as well as research positions at several universities and research labs.
Levent holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland and undergraduate degrees in engineering and mathematics from Bogazici University in Turkey. He has published extensively in technical journals and holds 14 patents and numerous awards for his pioneering work in high-speed data communications and broadband access. An accomplished speaker, Levent is often invited to speak at industry events as well as present papers. Levent was inducted into the Cable TV Pioneers in 2019 for his contributions to cable modem standards in the 1990s that transformed the Cable TV industry.
Aaron Gomolak is a driven and accomplished executive with more than 20 years of leadership experience across public and private equity-backed companies in the renewable energy, technology, and manufacturing sectors. Prior to being Ampt’s CEO, Aaron served as the company’s CFO. During his tenure, Aaron has led multiple rounds of equity and debt financing, expanded manufacturing capabilities, and scaled operations to meet growing global demand.
Aaron brings a multidisciplinary approach to executive leadership. His expertise spans across corporate strategy, finance, operations and includes product development roadmap execution, global supply chain management, cost reduction kaizens and continuous improvement.
Aaron was also President of Wild Goose Filling and Inline Filling Systems, both global suppliers of packaging and canning solutions for the food and beverage industry, where he initially served as CFO during a period of rapid domestic and international growth. As President, Aaron led operational expansion and strategic M&A efforts that culminated in the company’s successful acquisition.
Earlier in his career, Aaron held executive roles at Satcon Technology, a global manufacture of solar power inverters, where he served as Executive Vice President and CFO. At Satcon, he played a critical role in building the company’s global brand and infrastructure across North America and Asia. He also held senior financial leadership positions at Advanced Energy Industries and Georgia-Pacific Corporation.
Aaron earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Western Michigan University’s Haworth College of Business.
Anatoli Ledenev
Chief Scientist
Anatoli Ledenev is a pioneering innovator in power electronics and control systems with a career spanning over five decades. As a co-founder and Chief Scientist of Ampt, Anatoli has played a critical role in developing the industry’s most advanced string-level DC/DC power converters. His work has provided the key technology used to deliver innovative solutions for solar-plus-storage power plants that have established Ampt as a leader in the market.
Prior to Ampt, Anatoli served as a Staff Engineer and Technical Fellow at Advanced Energy, where he was the design lead for the Apex series switch-mode RF generators. He was also instrumental in the successful spin-off of the IKOR business unit where he led power supply design for microprocessors requiring high efficiency and rapid transient response. IKOR was acquired by iWatt in 2004.
Anatoli began his career as a Senior Scientist at the Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics in Novosibirsk, Russia, where he spent over two decades designing control and power systems for large-scale particle accelerators and nuclear installations. Anatoli holds an M.S. in Physics from Novosibirsk State University and a Ph.D. in Particle Accelerators from the Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics. Anatoli holds 48 patents and has numerous publications.
Fernando Tomasel
VP Engineering
Dr. Fernando Tomasel is the Vice President of Engineering for Ampt. Dr. Tomasel has more than 20 years of professional experience in technology and engineering, particularly in the area of industrial power electronics. He leads the Engineering and Product Design Group, including hardware, software, and data analytics.
Prior to joining Ampt, Fernando was Vice President of Engineering for Petra Systems, a solutions provider in the area of renewable energy and data services infrastructure for smart city deployments. Before working for Petra, Fernando spent 14 years working for Advanced Energy, where he made important contributions to the development of high-performance RF power delivery systems for semiconductor plasma processing, both as an individual contributor and project/division leader. His work comprises contributions to the development of semiconductor-processing remote plasma sources with unmatched uptime and technical performance. Fernando also developed and implemented advanced model-based tuning algorithms that enable optimum power delivery to plasma chambers. As a project leader, he headed the development of the modular architecture and the engineering development programs of some of the industry-leading RF power generators used in semiconductor plasma processing today. Fernando was also Director of Engineering for XUV Lasers, where he developed gigawatt-class solid state pulsed power drivers for soft X-ray lasers.
Fernando holds a Ph.D. and a M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Colorado State University, and a M.Sc. in Physics from University of Mar del Plata in Argentina. He holds 15 patents and is coauthor of numerous peer-reviewed papers in several areas including soft X-ray lasers, plasmas, optical sensors, neural networks, and biology. He has also been Adjunct Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Colorado State University since 2006, and he is a member of its Industrial Advisory Board. Fernando teaches regularly at both graduate and undergraduate level, and he is member of advisory committees for graduate students.
Chris Sjerven
VP Global Operations
For over 25 years, Chris Sjerven has held several leadership positions in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and procurement. Chris has worked in several different industries, including semiconductor capital equipment, disk drives, consumer electronics, and communications equipment. Chris has led and worked with manufacturing teams across Mexico, Brazil, and all across Asia including Japan, China, Thailand, Singapore, and the Philippines.
Prior to joining Ampt, Chris was SVP of Supply Chain and BU General Manager for Imagine Communications, a leading television broadcast infrastructure company.
Mary Adam
VP Global Sales
Mary Adam has over a decade of experience in the renewable energy industry. Her proven track record includes the execution of complex, multi-million dollar battery energy storage system (BESS) and software-as-a-service (SaaS) projects with industry leading solar developers, utilities and independent power producers (IPPs).
At Ampt, Mary is the Vice President of Global Sales. She is responsible for establishing and managing relationships with customers and OEM channel partners around the world, and diversifying Ampt’s customer and application base to expand the impact of Ampt’s innovative technology. Mary leads a global sales team to deliver the most competitive solutions for lowering the cost and increasing the production of large-scale PV systems.
Prior to joining Ampt, Mary was the Vice President of Sales at Stem, Inc., where she doubled the company’s pipeline of utility-scale BESS and PV+BESS projects across the U.S. year-over-year and secured the company’s largest strategic partnerships. She also held sales positions at REC Solar, driving sales growth of commercial PV systems and energy efficiency services.
Mary holds a B.S. degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Mark Kanjorski
VP Strategic Marketing
Mr. Mark Kanjorski is a seasoned executive with over 20 years of experience in strategy, marketing, and business development at both start-ups and established companies. Throughout his career, Mark has served in leadership positions at hardware, software, and service-oriented businesses in diverse industries.
At Ampt, Mark is Vice President of Strategic Marketing. Mark joined Ampt as a start-up in 2009 and serves the company globally in both strategic and commercial roles where he is responsible for go-to-market activities, product marketing, marketing communications, strategic alliances, and business development. Mark is also the founding Chair of the HDPV Alliance, a solar industry alliance of over forty companies from around the world.
Prior to joining Ampt, Mark was a management consultant at Deloitte Consulting LLP where he specialized in strategy and operations for the aerospace, defense, life sciences and technology industries. Before working at Deloitte, he founded and sold KeyLink Transmedia, Inc., a web development and internet marketing company. Mark has also held positions at Lockhart Ventures, Inc. as senior vice president and director and at NMT, Inc.
Mark holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Cornell University.
